I've been collecting CDs for a few years but only really started actively looking for them this year, ever since I got a new CD player.
My original one was an old broken red player I would only use to play classical music to sleep as a kid. Then I recieved a nicer big gray one from my grandfather however it was also very old and starting having some serious skipping issues after a bit. When I started taking CD collecting more seriously, my mom bought a new small player for the family and now I've basically co-opted it as my own! It's a cheap modern one (I'm still keeping an eye out for a better one) though it works and I love it!
I would also love a portable player, though I tried to buy one off amazon (back when I used to order from there...) and the laser was broken when it arrived :( I'm hoping to find a Sony walkman at a thrift store one day.
While I do just love everything about CDs, I also am the student manager of my high school's radio station and CDs are really helpful to add to our playlists. If I want to buy the album for myself anyways, I might as well upload it to our radio software! Thankfully our club advisor is just as much as a nerd for physical music as I am! The only thing is I have to bring my CDs to school sometimes in my backpack and that is probably the most nervewracking thing my CDs have been through T_T suprisingly I haven't had any damage...yet.
Anyways, I love my collection and I'm always happy to show it off!
